Our Mission

The Irving Thomas Elite Basketball Academy is a non profit organization that services at-risk youth in communities across South Florida and Internationally.  Our mission is to provide basketball skills training, educational resources through the sport of basketball and mentorship through Police Officers and our Community Leaders. In addition to our camp, we provide reading assessments and assistance with finding athletic scholarships for those students who qualify to play collegiate sports.

Our program uses an integrative approach to enhance the lives of student athletes between the ages of 8 thru 18 and implements a high quality training skills camp that is designed to make the ultimate impact on reading levels, basketball skills, and careers choices in the field of sports.  In addition, the Academy promotes the game of basketball not only as a means of developing    athletic talent, but also to implement educational, and interpersonal skill workshops to assist campers in becoming better basketball players and better students in the game of Life.

 Through our partnership with the Literacy Through Sports Foundation, Inc. our student athletes will be provided intensive, small group intervention sessions in reading and mathematics. During the summer months our student athletes will participate in basketball skills camps that focus on fundamental basketball skills, lectures, sports and nutrition education, vision training, and game competitions.

The Elite Basketball Academy has given back to the community for the past 4 years, educated campers while learning the game of basketball, and has helped change the lives of our youth through the sport of basketball.  Our motto is “Raising Champions On and Off the Court”! We are committed in achieving our goals to support our youth through sports through the public school system, parks and recreation and health and fitness programs that prevent childhood obesity. In addition, Student athletes are informed on how to transition into real life careers in sports.  During the" Elite Basketball Academy" our goal is to provide student athletes with the opportunity to excel in high level basketball training, athletic competition, literacy, and  healthy  lifestyle changes "On and Off the Court".
